BrikStax is a personal LEGO® collection tracker with price tracking, a gamified avatar/cosmetics system, and an optional community photo feature. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and where it goes.
BrikStax is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
The following is stored locally on your device only, and never leaves it except where described below:
BrikStax talks to a backend we operate (hosted on Cloudflare) to fetch pricing data, cache lookups, and support the optional Community feature. Specifically:
On first launch, the app generates a random identifier (not tied to your name, email, or any account — there is no account) and stores it on your device. This id is sent alongside two specific actions:
This identifier cannot be used to determine who you are.
When you look up or refresh a price, the app sends the LEGO set number and condition (sealed/open) to our server, which checks a shared cache or fetches current pricing from eBay (via a third-party pricing API), Rebrickable, or BrickSet. No personal information is included in these requests.
If you choose to submit a photo to the Community feed:
Only submit photos you have the right to share, and be mindful of what's visible in the frame — we strip location data automatically, but we can't strip identifying details you choose to photograph (people's faces, addresses on mail, etc.).
BrikStax requests camera permission to scan LEGO set barcodes and to let you take a photo for a Community submission. The camera is only active when you're actively scanning or taking a photo — nothing is captured or transmitted without you initiating it.
We use a third-party crash-reporting service (Sentry) to catch bugs and crashes. When the app encounters an error, technical diagnostic information may be sent automatically — this can include your device model, OS version, app version, and what the app was doing at the time. This is used solely to find and fix bugs, not to identify you personally.
| Service | What it sees | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Rebrickable | Set/theme numbers | Set & theme lookup |
| BrickSet | Set numbers | Retail price & barcode lookup |
| eBay (via RapidAPI) | Set numbers & condition | Market price estimates — routed through our own server, so eBay never sees your device directly |
| Sentry | Technical diagnostics | Crash/error reporting |
| Discord | Submitted Community photos | Shown privately to moderators for approval, not the public Discord server |
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. If you'd like a Community photo you submitted removed before its automatic 6-day expiry, contact us using the details below.
We'll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
